I walk along the Greenway quite often and usually see a man who’s made it his job to clean golf balls and offer them for resale. I noticed he wears ragged-looking shoes and that he smokes. I told the Golf ball Man that I’d like to give him our money but wanted to be sure he’d use it for something good, like new shoes; not for cigarettes or anything unhealthy. The man promised he would put the money to good use. The next time I saw him, he had on bright new converse tennis shoes and had gotten a haircut with the money.
