Last week, I finally donated the $ to a sweet woman. Our Sunday School class has been praying for her and her three children for a few months now. She is a friend of one of our class members. Anyway, her oldest child is ill and needs medical treatment frequently, so she misses a lot of work and has to make arrangements for her other two children during these times. So, last Sunday, our class member was giving us an update on this woman. She said things were “okay” right now but that this mom was mentally at the end of her rope. Then the Lord brought it to my mind to give the money to her. I wrote a note card explaining the Ten for Him story and included the Bible verse with the money.– Natalie S, Tx
I was walking down the grocery aisle and saw this family hugging each other. Being the shy person that I am, I said, ” Can I get a hug too? ” ( In retrospect, that was just weird of me, but hey…) The woman juts her hand out to me and shows me her diamond ring. “I just got engaged! ” , She bubbled. I then said, ” Right here by the spaghetti???” She told me no, that she was just so happy she had to hug her fiancee and daughter right then. IT WAS ADORABLE!
I snuck over and bought a big bouquet of flowers for her and asked a grocery clerk to give it to her and tell her ” Congratulations, may God bless your marriage! ” I was checking out and instinctively HID behind the counter so bubbly engaged woman would not see me. The grocery bagger looked down at me and said, ” Excuse me, ma’am are you hiding down there? ” It was at this moment I realized how crazy I looked, but when I heard the engaged woman’s happy laughter after they gave her the bouquet and it was awesome!
My daughter and I decided to give the money to a random person to give them a surprise and make their day. We went to downtown Dallas to the bus station and surprised a lady with the money. She was so surprised and appreciative and said she had been down on her luck.
I have had money from LAST YEAR (Don’t judge me! haha!) combined with money from this past month burning a whole in my pocket to give away! A beloved crossing guard, whom I have known for years, confided in me that her husband of 30 years had just left her, and she was starting her life over. I KNEW this was who the money was meant to go to. I gave her the verse and Ten for Him money. She wept. I wept. I am thankful that God showed me the exact right person to give the money to, and, that I waited until he did.
