Do you have any specific questions about “Ten for Him”? Check out our Frequently Asked Questions below.
I don't have 10 friends, can I still start a group?
Absolutely! Start with what you have. You can have fewer meetings or repeat the giving cycle.
I don't have 10 dollars, can I still start a group?
Sure! The fun is in the giving. Start with what you have. Even a small amount of money can pay for diapers, a meal, a cup of coffee, a subway token, etc. You never know what a profound impact something that is seemingly small can have.
Do the meetings really just last 10 minutes?
Yes, They do. The meetings are simple. Many groups have their “official” 10 minute meeting, then dismiss as some go to work, while others stay and visit.
Can I really just commit to 10 meetings, or will you never let me quit?
In fact, we ASK that you just commit to 10 meetings, take a 2 month break and then decide if you would like to remain in your group, start your own group or take a breather.
The only person benefiting is YOU when you give and whomever you give to. Ten for Him does NOT receive any of the funds collected by the group.
Wait what is the catch? Who is making money off of this?
How do we know that the people who receive the Ten for Him money are going to use it wisely?
You don’t. We trust God, listen to His leadings, give where He tells us to and leave the outcome up to Him.
Can I give the money to myself?
We ask that you don’t give the money to yourself, as that is not the purpose of Ten for Him. It is more blessed to give, than to receive.
Can I give the money to family members?
It will probably be less “sticky” within the group if you do not. However, extenuating circumstances may occur. Please talk with your group leader about giving to a family member before you do so.
What church is this under?
None. Our common bond is that we love Jesus.
Do I tell who I give the money to about our group?
No, not unless you want to. Sometimes I just say, “A group of people that like to help others gathered this money for this month, and I get to give it away. I am giving it to you.”
Do I always have to have the verse Philipians 4:19 on the money?
Yes, please. It is all about Jesus.
Can I buy things with the $100 and give them away?
Absolutely! Please include Philipians 4:19 with or on the item or items.
Are there any membership fees?
If I need some money and I contact you, will you send me some?
No. The purpose of this site is to disseminate information. Please pray and contact your local church for specific needs.
Can you set me up in a group?
I don’t have that capability. I would suggest that you start with a like minded friend or two and add others as you want to.
Does our group leader have to send in testimonies of how the money was spent?
You don’t HAVE to do anything, but we would LOVE it if you did. Just 3 or 4 sentences should be enough to tell your story. (See the “Giver of the Month” Testimony Sheet)
Do I have to give the money away during the interim between meetings?
That is the idea, but every once in a while, our members have not “heard” who to give the money to by the time the next meeting rolls around. There is absolutely no stress, just keep the money until you give it away (and give a testimony of how you gave the money away at the next meeting) or give your ungiven money to the next person whose name is drawn.
Can I give the money to a minor?
We request you do not give the money directly to the minor child, but instead give it to the minor’s parents so they can disburse it accordingly.
