I am a CASA Advocate for those who don’t know what that is…it is a court appointed special advocate. This is a person who represents the best interest of children who are in CPS. The advocate visits the child monthly and develops a very important trusting relationship with the child. I have two cases presently. At first I thought I would give it to the family of a case that I have that involves twin babies. However, as we know how Ten for Him works things change! I also have another case that involves teenage siblings. These teens are actually in a home that is with their aunt and uncle. I have come to develop a strong relationship with the whole family. The aunt and uncle are amazing people. I am convinced the aunt and uncle are in this for the long run and they truly love my teens as if they are their own children. As you can imagine having six kids in one house and you both work..there is chaos just getting people where they need to be and get dinner on the table. On my last visit I decided to give the Ten for Him money to the aunt and uncle. I gave her the history on Ten for Him and told her I thought she should take her husband to dinner! Although, I doubt she will, the money will more than likely go towards family bills. She loved the idea of Ten for Him and was very moved by receiving the money.
