My daughter’s Economics professor’s family in Kenya was deeply affected by the Al-Sahab Massacre at the University. Two daughters were murdered. I could not stop thinking about this whole situation. It haunted me and I wanted them to know we care in America about their suffering. I gave a letter with the $100, to the professor explaining what Ten for Him was, and how we were heartbroken for him and his family. He sent a thank you letter and verification of the money transfer to Kenya.
His note said, “ Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
“I thank the Lord for using you and your Ten for Him sisters to comfort my family. Words cannot fully express the gratitude I feel for what you have shown to me and my family. Your prayers mean the world to me. Please pass my sincere appreciation to the other sisters in Christ, The Ten for Him. Maybe one day I will meet all of them and thank them in person.”
I felt unified with people far away that are being persecuted for being a Christian. How easily we take for granted our religious freedom.
